The fan must offer as little restriction as possible during normal throttle operation, (the charger only kicks in at full rpm when the cars throttle is in the flat open position). Therefore the additional fan blades would generally offer more restriction at all other times. In addition to this the speed of the fan is such that it keeps the air fuel ratio within the capability of the fuel injection system, any more pressure through the standard system would result in a lean mixture and unwanted detonation. I intend to copy the design by sourcing the correct fan through model aircraft suppliers. In this case bigger and faster is not necessarly better!
